About

My name is Michael McCann and I am the director of Child Protection Resource, an independent social work services organisation that has been established for more than five years and offers expertise in many matters relating to Children’s Social Care

I attained a first degree in Social Work in 1986 and later gained a Masters at the University of Reading. My career has taken me from practitioner to manager and my last salaried post involved me setting up and running the NSPCC’s Specialist Investigation Service in the South West. Since 2004 I have worked independently as a Consultant, Trainer and Practitioner; I like to retain a foot in practice so have been involved in court assessments and sensitive investigation work. I am registered with the General Social Care Council and the Data Protection Authority; I also hold Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.

Thank you for visiting the site: you are welcome to browse and find out more about the range of independent social work services available from Child Protection Resource and the portfolio of training courses which the company can provide.
